A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to correct sagging skin, excess fatty deposits, and wrinkles of the upper and lower eyelids. It is commonly referred to as an eyelid lift as it can help reduce tired-looking eyes and give you a more youthful appearance.
Where is it performed?
If you're interested in upper eyelid blepharoplasty, this procedure can be conveniently performed by your plastic surgeon in the comfort of our office procedure room under local anesthesia. The entire process usually takes typically less than an hour for both of the upper lids and afterward, some minor swelling and bruising may occur - but should diminish shortly thereafter. Alternatively, lower blepharoplasty often needs general anesthetic administered at a surgery center instead of the doctor's office.
Candidates
Generally speaking, anyone who is unhappy with the appearance of their eyes, has excess skin or puffiness around their eyes or has difficulty seeing due to drooping eyelids may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty.
