Adam Levy, MD
Meet Dr. Levy
Dr. Adam Levy is a Plastic Surgeon specializing in Reconstructive Microsurgery and Aesthetic surgery. Using the latest and most advanced surgical techniques, he has a passion for helping patients return to normalcy after cancer surgery or traumatic injury and improving patient’s quality of life.
His clinical expertise is in microsurgical perforator flaps (e.g. DIEP flap, SGAP/IGAP flap, PAP flap, osteocutaneous flap, ALT flap) that are muscle sparing. He performs complex reconstruction for children and adults who have defects after surgery of the breast, head and neck, abdominal wall, spine, torso, and extremities. He also performs aesthetic surgery of the face and body, aiming for a natural, but rejuvenated look.
Dr. Levy is a 5th generation native of Colorado and graduated with Honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He then earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, graduating cum laude. To pursue the best surgical training, he moved to New York City as a general surgery resident at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed his Plastic Surgery residency in the intensive combined programs of Weill Cornell and Columbia University Medical Centers of New York-Presbyterian Hospital. During this time, he had broad exposure to both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery from many distinguished faculty. In his penultimate year, he served as the Chief Administrative Resident. During training, he received many accolades, including the Dicran Goulian Award for Academic Excellence in Plastic Surgery and the Distinguished Housestaff Award for New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
To gain additional experience, Dr. Levy then elected an additional year of sub-specialty fellowship training in microsurgery at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. UCLA is well known as a founding center for microsurgery and remains the busiest center on the west coast for autologous breast reconstruction. Additionally, as a faculty member of the UCLA Division of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Levy was responsible for teaching UCLA plastic surgery residents.
In addition to his surgical training, he completed year-long research fellowships at both Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Harvard University. He has published numerous journal articles and textbook chapters in the field of plastic surgery and presents his work regularly at national meetings. Dr. Levy applies this same passion, scientific rigor, and continued learning approach to patient care.
In his free time, Dr. Levy enjoys skiing, hiking, running, and spending time with his wife and two young children. He is excited to be back in beautiful Colorado and thrilled to be part of Precision Plastic and Hand Surgery.
